Crock Pot Dressing

What a wonderful idea this recipe was! Not something we had as children, but a more recent addition. You can fix this and forget it until it is time to put it on the table. When asked to contribute recipes to our ward cookbook, this is the ONLY recipe I sent. There was nothing else like it in the cook book! I recently saw this exact recipe, only with 4 cups of rotisserie chicken added and called "Chicken and Dressing"-- interesting! Of course this dressing is excellent for Thanksgiving with the turkey and cranberry sauce.

Ingredients:

1-8 inch pan cornbread, baked and cubed
8 slices of day-old wheat bread, toasted and cubed
4 eggs
1 medium onion chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1-2 tsp sage or poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 cans chicken broth

Directions:

Lightly grease crock pot dish. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour into crock pot. Dot top with 2 Tbsp butter. Cover crock pot with lid. Cook on high for 2 hours or on low 3-4 hours. Delicious!
